Summer Reading Challenge

This annual challenge runs in libraries nationwide and changes its theme every year. The aim is to attract children into the library and to keep them reading during the school holidays. In the past, Susanna has produced bespoke storytelling for Knowsley, Oldham, Manchester, Kirklees, Wakefield, Leeds, Sheffield and East Riding library services.  Usually running at 1 hour, the sessions combine stories, poetry, quizzes, games and lots of fun! Always a very busy time of year, book early to avoid disappointment.

“It brought stories to life and captured the boys’ attention – they don’t often stay still. My four year old loved the craft.”

Outdoor Storytelling and Story Walks

These sessions are very popular from April to October. You will be delighted to discover the tales that are stored in the trees around you. And who wouldn’t love the opportunity to dance on the grass or through the trees? It’s all possible with outdoor storytelling sessions. Suitable for schools (KS1 &2) and family events.

“Start to finish was just perfect for our children’s needs.” Littletown, Kirklees

Storytelling and story making

Susanna is an expert at encouraging you to tell your own tales. Whether you are wanting to free your imagination or shape your own life experiences, Susanna can lead one-off workshops or a series of sessions for adults and children.

“Fantastic storytelling, engaging all the children from 4-11 – and the staff!”

Storytelling for adults

‘Revealing Women’ is an hour-long storytelling performance that explores the stages of woman-hood through traditional tales of Maiden, Mother and Crone along with a revealing real-life story of courage and awareness. Beautiful, funny and moving in equal measure, it has led to listeners’ beginning their own journey of discovery.

Storytelling sessions range from £110 to £220 per session.  Contact Susanna: tellingtales@outlook.com
